Declan Lowney is a BAFTA-winning Irish television and film director. His works include episodes of the ITV drama Cold Feet (and its preceding pilot), the Channel 4 situation comedy Father Ted and the BBC Two series Help. An early credit is his direction of the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest, held in Dublin, for which he won a Jacob's Award. Lowney will be directing a forthcoming biographical film about Eddie 'the Eagle' Edwards, with Steve Coogan in the title role. Lowney has been the recipient of the British Academy Television Award for Best Comedy Programme or Series twice; the first in 1996 for Father Ted and the second ten years later for Help.
